Multimedia Journalist

About Me
While attending Florida A&M, I learned the different multimedia outlets to communication. I practiced most of them, from newspapers, to broadcast style and AP writing, also learning the complexity of each. I quickly got involved with TV News 20 as a fact-checker during the 2020 Presidential Election. I then became the weather and entertainment anchor during just my second semester.
While interning at a strong market news station in Texas, I learned how different types of communication effects an audience while watching. I learned how to produce a newscast and knew that’s what I wanted a career in.
I genuinely have a passion to become both a producer and anchor, but not at the same time. Attending Florida A&M has taught me that you really do anything. The School of Journalism & Graphic Communication has taught me how to take time and learn which media outlet I can make a career out of, and enjoy.
What journalism means
Be your best self, alone and with others. You may be the first to break news, but also make sure you are accurate. Learning the importance of news judgement when creating a show, and how to engage an audience with broadcast writing.
“Every day, sincerely and without phoniness, try to understand and appreciate the people who work with you. Do your job well, learn your job well, but always remember that the people you work with are your most valuable asset. Embrace them. Honor them. Respect them.”
—Denzel Washington
